Welcome to the Mandatory Eight-Hour Safety and Health, or MESH, training.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this course, you should be able to
- Explain the importance of occupational safety and health, or OSH.
- Outline the basic concepts of OSH.
- Identify basic rules and measures to address workplace hazards.
- Discuss the process of hazard identification, risk assessment, and application of control measures (HIRAC process).
- State how to prepare for and respond to workplace emergencies.
- List basic OSH administrative requirements and penalties for violations.
This training program is divided into 6 modules:
- Module 01 – Introduction to OSH.
- Module 02 – General concepts in OSH.
- Module 03 – Basic rules and measures for workplace hazards.
- Module 04 – Hazard identification, risk assessment, and control (HIRAC).
- Module 05 – Workplace emergency preparedness.
- Module 06 – Administrative OSH requirements.
The course is delivered through a series of on-demand animated videos, lectures, and interactive activities
Assessment:
- Quizzes: At the end of each module, you’ll be required to take a short quiz made up mainly of multiple-choice questions.
- Post-test: You must take a final test to assess your overall understanding of course materials. The passing score of this test is 90%.
- Re-entry plan: In addition to the post-test, you need to submit a re-entry plan, which outlines your basic future plan to apply the knowledge you gained to improve safety at your workplace.
- Retakes: You have the flexibility to retake the quizzes and post-test as many times as needed to improve your score.
Certificate:
- Upon successfully completing the course, passing the post-test, and submitting your re-entry plan, you’ll receive a certificate of your achievement.
